Environmental Sustainability

Town Hall Symphony Hall is committed to reducing our environmental impact through a variety of initiatives and activities. We have an active group of Green Ambassadors who aim to encourage all staff, audiences and artists to behave in a safe, ethical and environmentally responsible manner.

After studying our energy meter readings we are able to set benchmarks to improve year-by-year. Alongside our waste contractors we are working towards sending zero waste to landfill, and we are using contractors who are committed to environmental sustainability. Town Hall has already connected to Birmingham’s Combined Heat and Power Plant to join the city’s pledge to reduce emissions by 60% by 2026.

We have been working with Julie’s Bicycle to assess the impact Town Hall has on the environment. We are pleased to have been awarded a one-star Industry Green award, and are working towards even more improvements, initiatives and commitments to achieve the two-star award. Moving on from this we hope to achieve the ISO 14001 international standard.
