A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, Performed by Clive Francis
Town Hall
This event is archived
In December 1853 Dickens chose A Christmas Carol for his first ever public reading, in Town Hall, where “notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather, nearly 2,000 persons had assembled”. Clive Francis recreates the occasion, filling the stage with an entire Dickensian landscape. “Clive Francis as Scrooge is spellbinding” said the Sunday Times.
