The BBC Big Band celebrates the centenary of legendary big band leader Woody Herman.

In a 50 year career Woody Herman’s famous Herds were among the most exciting big bands around. From his early days in the 1930’s, Woody Herman would always be at the cutting edge of swinging big band sounds, delighting audiences worldwide.

This exclusive Town Hall performance recreates Britain’s finest big band, with all the excitement of the Herman Herds, performing their biggest hits, including The Woodchoppers’ Ball, The Four Brothers, Apple Honey, Bijou and Blues in the Night.

The band is joined by guest vocalist Matthew Ford, one of today’s finest big band singers and recognised from his recent appearances on BBC television with The John Wilson Orchestra.
