When the CBSO’s phenomenal Youth Orchestra takes to the stage, sparks fly. And that goes triple for this high-octane programme, as Jac van Steen takes the CBSO’s superb young players through Rachmaninov’s final orchestral showpiece, and violinist Alina Pogostkina adds her brilliance to theirs in Stravinsky’s zingy Violin Concerto. First, though, new music for a new orchestra: the world premiere of a new work specially written for the CBSO Youth Orchestra by Proms sensation Ben Foskett. Come and hear what all the fuss is about!
