Fairport Convention

Hailed as the originators of British folk-rock music, Fairport Convention is celebrating its forty-fifth anniversary as one of the most entertaining bands on the live music scene. This year’s visit to Town Hall will feature songs from Fairport’s most recent studio album, the critically acclaimed Festival Bell. But the band has a vast repertoire to draw on and this concert will include favourites chosen by audiences as well as the new material. There will also be an opening set from gifted singersongwriter Kieron Goss.

The band has won a coveted BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and Radio 2 listeners voted Fairport’s groundbreaking album Liege & Lief ‘The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time’.
