Fresh from touring his contemporary Noose ensemble at the Manchester International Jazz Festival, the brilliant young saxophonist Lluis Mather leads an exciting group of musicians introducing an eclectic mix of jazz, blues, improvisation and even scat singing to the Musical Picnic. Featuring a host of instruments, including saxophone, flute, piano, double bass, drums and vocals, this month’s Picnic will open up a wonderful combination of styles and sounds, with a mix of participation, performance and dynamic musicians.
