Direct from his performance at the First Night of the BBC Proms, sensational 19-year-old piano prodigy Benjamin Grosvenor comes to Symphony Hall. He is joined by the 165-strong National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and acclaimed conductor Vladimir Jurowski in a Summer Prom of youthful classics including Benjamin Britten’s joyous Piano Concerto and Prokofiev’s much-loved Romeo & Juliet.
‘Let’s hear it for the home-grown heroes of the NYO. A constellation of bright young stars who produce miracles’ The Observer, 2011
Before the performance, see the NYO’s Creative Hub perform ‘deleted scenes’ from Romeo & Juliet by talented teenage composers at 6pm, and after the concert DJ Switch presents an eclectic summer set, finishing at approximately 10.45pm, in Symphony Hall Cafe Bar.
