The Asian Music Circuit (AMC) in partnership with Birmingham Town Hall is proud to present the brilliant Roop Kumar Rathod, one of Bollywood’s most accomplished artistes. He was the voice of Shahrukh Khan in the hit film Veer Zaara – Tere Liye and other hits include Maula Mere Maula from the film Anwar and the award-winning Sandese Aate Hain.
 Apart from performing his hits, Roop Kumar will be accompanied by his wife the charming Sunali Rathod.

Music binds these soul mates in an unbreakable bond of love and togetherness. Their intimate bonding reflects in their soul-stirring renditions, whether individually or as duets. Brought together by their love for music, it is music that sustains them through the highs and lows of life. Kalmaa, Ishara and Mitwaa are just some of the duo’s many albums which have emblazoned the music circuit.

Roopkumar comes from a musical family. His repertoire is vast, and he is a much sought-after Playback Singer and Music Director performing all over the world. Roop is a versatile performer: called a ‘chaumukha’ musician, singing, percussion and composing form his core competencies. Among the illustrious artists Roopkumar has worked with are Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Gulzar Saheb with whom he cut the ghazal album ‘Vaada”.

Sunali is pure magic when she gets into performance mode. Introduced to the world of music at a tender age, she comes across with a sweetness that is at once smooth, flawless and eloquent. Aghaaz, her first solo ghazal album catapulted her to fame. Sunali brings to her music the polished efforts of regular “riyaz” (pratice), the exclusivity of the classic kirana Gharana and impeccable sur. Her spontaneity, her stage chemistry and artistic prowess lend a vibrancy that enriches and enthralls audiences.
