The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra
Symphony Hall
The internationally renowned Scottish Fiddle Orchestra promises a fun-filled, lively and happy evening of music, song and dance that will live in your memory for a long time!
With 100 performers this unique event offers a feast of music from lively jigs and reels, to strathspeys, hauntingly beautiful slow airs, and well-known songs. The music, mainly arranged or composed by the late John Mason, and played by the orchestra under the baton of Blair Parham, is all firmly in the Scottish tradition – but with a few surprises.
The orchestra will be joined by the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Pipe Band, and by young award-winning dancers from the Myra Shuttleworth School in Dumfries. The evening will be compered by Jim McColl.
