Acker Bilk and Chris Barber return to Town Hall following on from their popular concert here last year.
Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band gained worldwide fame with his international hit singles Stranger on the Shore in 1962 and Aria in 1976. Having toured the world for nearly 60 years, Acker and his Paramount Jazz Band return to Symphony Hall.
Chris Barber leads his 11-piece band, playing a wide selection of his favourite music. From his roots in New Orleans style with his signature tune Bourbon Street Parade, to the early music of Duke Ellington and Sidney Bechet. Then on to blues by Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee and the soulful music of Miles Davis.
A night of phenomenal trad-jazz from these true legends.
