Jazzlines

Jazzlines is Town Hall Symphony Hall’s dynamic programme of live jazz performances and education projects across Birmingham, from jazz producers Tony Dudley-Evans and Mary Wakelam, connecting people to jazz music.

The programme is supported by the grant made to THSH by Arts Council England under the National Portfolio Organisation scheme and will build on the reputation that Tony and Mary developed through Birmingham Jazz.

Jazzlines includes Jazzlines Free Gigs at Symphony Hall, the concert programme at CBSO Centre and mac birmingham, regular gigs at The Jam House and a series at The Hare & Hounds. Relationships with other key organisations such as Mostly Jazz, Funk and Soul Festival, Supersonic Festival, Harmonic Festival and Flatpack Festival will be developed, as will the touring programme.

Jazzlines is hoping to grow the jazz programme in Birmingham, consolidating these strands with THSH’s jazz programme and broadening live jazz performances in the two venues. The growing jazz education programme which consists of Early Years through to undergraduate and professional development work will also be expanded as part of THSH’s core value of Connecting People to Music.
