Science of Sound

…Our team of musicians, technicians and science experts teach the theory behind how sound is made

Our ‘Science of Sound Discovery Day’ is a show aimed at children in key stage two. The show introduces our world famous concert hall and the science behind its stunning acoustics in a fun and interactive way. Using demonstrations and real-life examples, our team of musicians, technicians and science experts teach the theory behind how sound is made, travels and how we hear. It’s an exciting opportunity for the children involved to experience our concert venues, the impressive Symphony hall organ and hear live musical performances.

The show is presented by a professional scientist from Science Made Simple along with two live performers. This show is a great opportunity to bring learning outside the classroom to your students and will emphasise the key stage two science curriculum areas around sound and vibrations and changing the pitch of sounds as well as scientific language and terms.
