Concerts2Kerbstones

Concerts2Kerbstones is our ongoing creative programme for children and families within the constituency of Ladywood. During the first year of the programme we worked with neighbouring community organisations and professional artists to consult with and deliver projects that provide creative opportunities for local residents. Projects aim to address some of the barriers which might prevent families engaging with the concert halls and enable a slice of Town Hall & Symphony Hall to be taken out into the wider community, bringing residents together to share special experiences and develop a better understanding of our work, before encouraging them to take their first step into our venues.
From creating film and visual artwork on a Ladywood ‘Bear Hunt’ before coming to see We’re Going on a Bear Hunt at Town Hall, to workshops with professional musicians from Orchestra of the Swan ahead of coming to see a full concert, the projects so far have offered opportunities to get a real taste of our varied programme and welcomed new audiences into our halls. We look forward to building and sustaining these relationships and offering new opportunities to connect local residents to music as we enter into the third year of the Concerts2Kerbstones programme.
