Community Arts Apprentice

THSH’s Education & Community department is currently hosting a Community Arts Apprenticeship.

The Apprenticeship is part of a national scheme which gives young people the opportunity to gain valuable on-the-job training as well as formal qualifications. It has also provided us with a valuable outside perspective on some of the challenges being faced within our local communities. Our Apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with Creative Alliance, the regional agency for professional development in the creative industries.

Since joining us in November, our apprentice Basith has worked in areas such as developing projects, working with participants from diverse backgrounds, and cross-art form collaborations. This has provided him with vital experience with which to build a career in Community Arts, despite not having a background of arts education or previous training in this sector.
