The world’s greatest classical stars perform in a special celebratory year

In 2012 Symphony Hall comes of age as we mark our twenty-first anniversary. Join our celebrations in a series of spectacular concerts featuring The Royal Opera with Antonio Pappano and Bryn Terfel, Mariinsky Orchestra and Chorus under Valery Gergiev, and Sir Simon Rattle with the Vienna Philharmonic.

Theatre and film fans can enjoy a trip to see the Wizard of Oz, whilst Bela Lugosi’s Dracula is on the loose to Philip Glass’s score, John Malkovich plays a classical-music-loving serial killer and, we enter Duke Bluebeard’s Castle with the help of cutting-edge video technology.

Through the 2011/12 season you can enjoy the best in international orchestras including, Leipzig’s Thomanerchor and Gewandhaus Orchestra, St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the Lahti Symphony. And there are performances by Lang Lang, Andreas Scholl, András Schiff, the Capuçon brothers, Angela Hewitt and Leif Ove Andsnes.
