Organ Concerts

Thomas Trotter performs more attractive and unusual programmes for the Autumn season of organ concerts at Town Hall and Symphony Hall. In particular, watch out for Animal Magic in November, which will show off some of the repertoire’s more playful and pictorial works. And in October, he’ll be playing a concert dedicated exclusively to the music of Jehan Alain, one of the most gifted composers of the 20th century whose life was tragically cut short at the start of the Second World War.

We also welcome guest artists old and new. Book early for the choir of St John’s College, who make a welcome return visit for the much-loved Symphony Hall Christmas concert on 20 December. Before that, in October, Canadian Isabelle Demers, hotly tipped as one of the new rising stars of the organ world, makes her UK debut. And later that month, Radio 2’s Nigel Ogden improvises another of his entertaining accompaniments for our regular Halloween Silent Movie, which this year is the classic Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
