175TH Birthday Organ Concert

Town Hall’s splendid 1834 organ, by William Hill, is one of the finest of English instruments, sounding as fresh as the day it was first played. Those who performed on it include Mendelssohn and, of course, George Thalben-Ball. Thomas Trotter gives a special anniversary recital with a range of colourful music from its heyday.
