Birmingham Festival Choral Society ELIJAH

Sun 13 Apr 2008 7:30pm at Town Hall

BFCS presents Elijah with the English Haydn Orchestra on period instruments, capturing a time when the newly formed BFCS participated in Elijah’s premiere – here in Town Hall in 1846 – and performed it again in 1847 with Mendelssohn himself conducting.

As Birmingham’s longest established chorus, this will be our 392nd performance in Town Hall, but the first since its refurbishment. BFCS continues to make history and this is one such occasion not to be missed.
