Georgie Fame with the Alan Skidmore Quartet - The 50th Anniversary Celebration

Fri 2 May 2008 7:30pm at Town Hall

Celebrating 50 years of playing together, Georgie Fame and the Alan Skidmore Quartet perform together in this exclusive, one-off concert for 2008.

The ex-member of The Blue Flames, who had number one hits with The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde, Getaway and Yeh Yeh will perform live alongside Europe’s finest tenor saxophonist Alan Skidmore and his Quartet. The combined effect of Fame’s powerful voice and the impact of the rich sounding saxophones will provide a truly memorable evening at Town Hall, Birmingham.

Alan Skidmore is the saxophone genius known for his work with Elvin Jones, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock. He plays with immense physical and imaginative stamina and is joined by some of the finest musicians in music today. Leading drummer Ian Palmer, the sensational jazz pianist Steve Melling and Jamie Cullum’s internationally acclaimed bassist Geoff Gascoyne make up this stunning contemporary Quartet.
