Jimmy Webb & the Webb Brothers
Jimmy Webb, his father Bob Webb, and his sons, The Webb Brothers – Christiaan, Justin, James and Cornelius – take the stage together for the first time to perform as a three-generation family band. The family will perform Jimmy Webb classics as well as notable Webb Brothers tunes.
Tim Walker joins the band on pedal steel, with Cal Campbell on drums. The new outfit combines the rock sensibility and youthful production of the younger Webbs with the timeless Americana grandeur of their father’s symphonic songs.
Jimmy Webb is the only artist ever to receive Grammy awards for music, lyrics, and orchestration. He’s been covered by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings, Arlo Guthrie, Barbra Streisand, R.E.M., Linda Ronstadt, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Art Garfunkel, Shawn Colvin and Joe Cocker, and provided instant classics for Glen Campbell in By The Time I Get To Phoenix, Wichita Lineman, Galveston, plus Richard Harris and Donna Summer with MacArthur Park, Didn’t We and the Fifth Dimension hit Up, Up and Away.
As a performer, he blends his swift, biting sense of humor with elegant renditions of his classic songs.
The Webb Brothers grew up immersed in music from an early age and were soon recording and performing together. They amassed a loyal cult following while releasing three records on Warner Brothers during the early 2000s. The critically acclaimed Maroon was, according to The Guardian, 2000’s best all round reviewed album in the UK, making numerous top ten lists.
