Sir Willard White: Robeson Re-Explored

Wed 9 Dec 7:30pm at Town Hall

Sir Willard White

Sir Willard White

Paul Robeson was revered in his lifetime as an athlete, actor, cultural scholar, author, political activist and singer of rare gifts. In celebration of his four appearances at Town Hall, Sir Willard White, his band, and the Town Hall Gospel Choir explore Robeson’s life story with an evening of the songs he made immortal, including, of course, the legendary Ol’ Man River.

“It takes a larger-than-life figure to begin to pay homage to Paul Robeson . . . Willard White has charisma and vocal power to spare” The Times
