‘Street sounds and stories find where freedom lives’

Speaker’s Corner is a new piece of music theatre, spearheaded by Black British icon Don Letts – film and music maverick and author of Culture Clash: Dread meets Punk rockers. He’s teamed up with cutting-edge MCs, lyricists, and artists at the forefront of live poetry, asian underground, Reggae and grime, backed by a distinctively dubbased house band and original visuals. In a contemporary response to the anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade act, each writer is ignited by the question ‘What does it mean to be free today?’, embracing themes from the arrival experience to Rasta and the bling culture of hip hop.
