Today’s matinee is a Birmingham debut for Anaïs Gaudemard, the outstanding Paris-based harpist, already with a string of major international awards to her name, who continues to establish herself among the best performers of her generation.
With an appetite for innovative repertoire, Gaudemard’s programme includes a new commission by French composer Camille Pépin, inspired by Nighthawks, one of the best-known works by the prominent American realist painter Edward Hopper.
Anaïs Gaudemard is nominated by Cité de la musique – Philharmonie de Paris and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Lisbon as an ECHO Rising Star.
Pre-concert conversation at 1:00pm with Anaïs Gaudemard.
