Tenor Ilker Arcayürek captivated audiences at the 2015 Cardiff Singer of the World. This recital of songs by Schubert and Wolf shows his artistry at its most poetic.

Opera Now praises Ilker Arcayürek’s "easy charm" but there’s a lot more to this emerging star than just a smile and a radiant voice, as this beautifully-devised song recital proves.

Arcayürek has chosen his programme from the two greatest German romantic songwriters, with songs by Schubert contrasting with the darker, more troubled genius of Hugo Wolf. Each of their lieder creates its own world, like a music-drama in miniature – and since Arcayürek is already a veteran of the operatic stage, we can expect an afternoon of really compelling music-making at Town Hall.
