Austrian-Persian cellist Kian Soltani rose to fame at the age of just 19. Now 25, and with a string of glowing reviews, awards and a Deutsche Grammophon signing, Soltani brings a varied programme for his Birmingham recital debut including Prokofiev’s virtuosic Cello Sonata, music from Azerbaijani composer Franghiz Ali Zadeh, and a specially commissioned new work by jazz pianist David Helbock.
Kian Soltani is nominated by the Wiener Konzerthaus and Musikverein Wien as an ECHO Rising Star.
