For Mahan Esfahani, the harpsichord has never been a historic instrument. Everything he plays buzzes with the same irrepressible energy and intelligence; whether the music of the English renaissance (an Esfahani passion), or a modern rediscovery by Maconchy or Srnka. The Guardian hailed the “piercing insight” of his Bach: and for a select audience, up close in Town Hall, this should be a very special encounter with a really phenomenal artist.

This performance will be presented at Town Hall in-the-round.
