“His performance had the power of a healing service. It was truly divine”. That’s how the American piano legend Van Cliburn described Nobuyuki Tsujii, and you can’t have missed the buzz around this wonderful Japanese pianist, whose life-affirming virtuosity has won standing ovations from Tokyo to Manchester. His first ever solo recital in Birmingham finds him diving deep into the Romantic world of Schubert and Chopin, as well as Scriabin’s blazing Fifth Sonata: music to make the imagination take flight.
