Richard Ayres
In the Alps (No.42)
Brahms
Symphony No 1

The award-winning Aurora Orchestra redefines what an orchestra in the 21st century can be. Bold, fresh and fearlessly virtuosic, everything it touches sounds new. Following its astonishing Proms appearances, tonight it performs Brahms’s First Symphony entirely from memory – freeing the players to connect with the music on a new and intensely personal level. One of the events of the year at Symphony Hall: with maverick Richard Ayres’ musical trip to the Alps as an utterly unexpected upbeat.

2:45pm: Pre-concert conversation with Nicholas Collon. This conversation will be signed by a British Sign Language interpreter.
