The most successful contesting bands in the world, the Black Dyke Band and the Cory Band, are returning to the Symphony Hall stage. Their track record of competition victories and landmark debuts are assurances of the superb musicianship on display, not only from the named soloists, but from both bands.

Joined by guest soloists, including 2018 Young Musician of The Year, Thomas Nielsen (the first cornet player to win the Award)and with a programme of specialist brass band repertoire combined with familiar well-loved pieces the Black Dyke Band led by acclaimed brass conductor Professor Nicholas Childs, and the Cory Band conducted by Philip Harper will delight again.

Dobcross Silver Band was established in 1875 and for over 140 years has built an outstanding tradition for developing musical talent and performing quality music for our community and beyond. 

The Band rehearse at the famous Dobcross Band Club , in the heart of Saddleworth near to Oldham.  Musical Director Grenville Moore,  has  an outstanding reputation in the brass band world for both his playing and conducting skills. The Band perform regularly within the community, enter Contests  and have smaller groups to play at weddings etc.
