An intriguing evening of atmospheric music for wind ensemble with solo piano and cello ranging from the unique flavour of Janáček and Sieber to the inventive originality of Gulda and Lorenz. Music of true beauty.
Gulda’s concerto is not quite what you would expect. It covers classical minuets and rock anthems, folk tunes and pseudo-atonality. Also, Gulda uses wind orchestra as an accompaniment, which is generally unusual for concertos.
