Get your best Christmas jumper on and celebrate Christmas with the Halas Homes Sing and Sign Choir, Metropolitan Brass and THSH Chaplain, Elaine Hutchinson!
At THSH, we understand that getting together as a family at Christmas can be difficult for those who have to care for loved ones, which is why we’re working with Midland Mencap and Forward Carers (Birmingham Carers Hub) to present a relaxed-format concert at Town Hall for all of the family. We recognise the amount of effort and work that goes into caring for someone, so we’re taking this opportunity to provide a brief moment of respite to let us look after you in a friendly and inclusive environment.
Featuring festive favourites, traditional carols, sing-alongs and a few words from our THSH Chaplain, don’t miss the chance to come and celebrate Christmas in the heart of the city, and don’t forget to join us after the concert for tea, coffee and mince pies too!
Halas Homes supports people with Learning Disabilities and their sing and sign choir meets each week to learn to sign to new and familiar songs. The group perform in local communities and spread happiness wherever they perform.
The Metropolitan Brass Ensemble is one of the UK's finest young brass ensembles and their reputation for combining high quality musicianship and entertainment in equal measure have impressed audiences throughout the UK. They have worked with THSH for a number of years on our education and community work, particularly our free foyer events, Musical Picnics, Soundbounce, activities at community centres for young families and our Carers Christmas Concert in Town Hall. Revd. Elaine Hutchinson is THSH’s Chaplain who regularly calls in to check on the well-being of THSH staff and is also a member of the workplace chaplaincy team in Birmingham City Centre.
We are especially grateful to the Moore Stephens LLP and the Eveson Charitable Trust for their support of this concert.
