Superstar countertenor Franco Fagioli comes to Birmingham for the first time with a Baroque programme of distinctly Italian flavour.

Franco Fagioli is an artist of extraordinary flamboyance and character – and a voice that gives some idea of what the stars of 18th-century opera must have sounded like. He is joined by Il Pomo d’oro, the livewire Italian period instrument ensemble, in a recital programme mixing arias by Handel with those of Handel’s lesser known contemporary, Leonardo Vinci.
