The European Jazz Network, of which Jazzlines is a member, has published a major history of jazz in Europe. The book is the first organic overview of the history of jazz in Europe from its beginnings to the year 2000 and includes 750 pages, 250 images 40 articles and 45 contributors.
This event involves an introduction to the book by one of the editors, Alyn Shipton from Jazz Record Requests or Francesco Martinelli from the Jazz Department in Sienna, Italy. There will be short bursts of music throughout the afternoon curated by improvising violinist Sarah Farmer. Free entry, all welcome.
