Jon Boden is delighted to announce Painted Lady tour, Part Two, starting in May.

Best known as the lead singer of the progressive folk big band Bellowhead, who split in May 2016, Jon launched his solo career in Autumn 2016, touring the UK solo for the first time.

At his Town Hall concert Jon will not just showcase his instrumental talents on fiddle and concertina, but also on guitar and trademark electrified ‘stomp box’.

Nothing seemed too far for Boden – whether it was singing accompanied merely by handclaps, or performing a cover of Whitney Houston’s 80s hit I Wanna Dance With Somebody (one of the new, bonus tracks on Painted Lady), the music electrified the audience and held the room in silence.

Boden plays a vast variety of instruments as we veer from mysterious love songs to dark, poetic tales, amid hints of soul, electronic and thrilling guitar thrash.

Michael King, the chief songwriter and front man of Birmingham band Boat to Row, is making a special solo appearance at this year's Imagined Isle. The beginnings of a song can occur in a variety of forms, and although there isn’t a set formula, writers find what suits them best and for Michael, this means to be alone, usually in his bedroom, building a song solely around voice and his Martin guitar.

With influences as wide and varied as Bill Callahan , Bonnie Prince Billy and Bert Jansch and having recently shared the stage with the likes of Jessica Pratt, Ryley Walker and The Low Anthem; this year's festival appearance will see the twenty eight year old songwriter stripped of the comfort of his band and with only his guitar in hand.
