One of the world’s most distinctive singing voices, Michael McDonald, five-time Grammy Award winner and formerly of The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan and a member of supergroup the Dukes of September, performs at Symphony Hall, Birmingham. One of three UK dates, this will be one of his first UK solo shows in eight years.
Michael McDonald, who tours extensively as a solo artist in the US, recently released his first new album Wide Open in nine years, and his first set of original material in 17 years. The album finds him collaborating with a number of special guests including saxophonist Branford Marsalis, guitarist-singer Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule), guitarist Robben Ford, bassist Marcus Miller, Amy Holland and David Paich, to name a few.
McDonald has recently received the prestigious award of being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and a Gold & Platinum Award celebrating more than 26 million RIAA album and song certifications, from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)/
