A very special Musical Picnic, as we welcome families new to Birmingham from around the world to the city and to Symphony Hall as part of Refugee Week, celebrating the incredible music and culture of countries from Syria to Bangladesh, and marking Birmingham as a City of Sanctuary.

Introduced by our longstanding Musical Picnic favourite, vocalist Holly Thomas, we welcome musicians from the Middle East, North Africa, SE Asia and SE Europe along with their unique instruments, songs and stories, including the wonderful Syrian-born oud player Rihab Azar, the first female oudist to perform accompanied by the Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music.  Join us for a magical morning of music, welcome and celebration.
