Polish pianist Rafał Blechacz was the uncontested winner of the 2005 Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, garnering not only the Grand Prize, but also all four of the special prizes as well as the Competition’s audience prize. Propelled onto the international stage to great acclaim, it was not until 2017 that he performed in Birmingham for the first time.

Blechacz returns for his Birmingham recital debut with a programme of Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann and his very personal interpretation of Chopin’s Mazurkas. Expect to hear poetry in his phrasing and magic in his performances marked by an incredible technical mastery.
