THSH in Sutton Coldfield

SUTTON COLDFIELD ARTS CHAMPIONS

We are Birmingham City Council’s Arts Champions for Sutton Coldfield for 2014 to 2017. So we’re busy working hard to help connect people to music and musical opportunities, and are providing community arts support throughout the Sutton Coldfield district.

During 2014-15 we worked with Sutton residents and nearby organisations to offer a taste of what we’re about by jointly programming a number of local arts activities.  These included pop-up performances in a variety of spaces, introducing different genres of music as part of Concerts on your Doorstep and a local walk during The Still Walking Festival with Martin Collins. We also had fun with an interactive performance and workshop from Flatpack Caravan of film and provided opportunities linked to our young programmers initiative, Project Sound Lounge, and our choral programme, Community Spirit.

LIVE IN THE LODGE

Since 2015 in Falcon Lodge, Sutton Coldfield, we have supported a community-led programme of music, Live in the Lodge. In addition to regular performances, concerts and gigs, featuring both residents and professional touring artists, there is also an ever-growing community choir, performances for local primary schools and weekly instrumental lessons on guitar, drums and ukulele!

Live In The Lodge is produced by Town Hall Symphony Hall and Mubu Music and  is kindly funded by the Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust and Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council.

Free music lessons for the residents of Falcon Lodge are just one of the many ways we connect over 15,000 young people and adults to a world of music and performance. To find out how you can help that work continue visit thsh.co.uk/join-and-support
