In 2012 with support from the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, Jazzlines launched a fellowship programme to support some of the country’s most talented emerging jazz musicians aged 18-35, enabling them to devote time and resources to their musical and professional development.

Fellows were nominated by industry professionals based on their skills, commitment and potential to develop, and invited to submit proposals for ambitious new projects they would like to develop.

The Fellowships scheme ran for 2 years and offered mentoring, advice and masterclasses, as well as assistance with artistic development through visits and high profile performance opportunities. At the end of the twelve months, the Fellows  showcased there ambitious new work as part of the Jazzlines programme. Since their initial performances a number of these projects have to the releases of new recordings, further performance opportunities and national radio broadcasts.
