After 27 years at THSH, Andrew Jowett OBE has stepped down as CEO

The CEO of Performances Birmingham Ltd (PBL) – the charitable company that manages Symphony Hall and Town Hall Andrew Jowett OBE, has left PBL after 27 years, at the end of January.

Andrew Jowett commented, “During my career I have had the extraordinarily good fortune to manage two of the world’s finest concert halls, Symphony Hall – which is now approaching its 25th anniversary – and Town Hall since 2007. Now after many years of nurturing and watching these halls blossom and grow, I feel the time is right to step down and look to spend the next few years embracing new challenges.

“I am immensely proud of all of the achievements of the team over the years, and following the appointment of my successor, Nick Reed, I am confident that the hall will continue to develop and grow, continuing its essential education and community work and bringing some of the greatest artists and musicians to Birmingham.

“I wish Nick Reed every success and look forward to keeping in touch with the continued development of Town Hall Symphony Hall and its programme.”

Anita Bhalla OBE, Chairman of the PBL Board added, “We wish Andrew the very best for the future. He has been a visionary leader not only at PBL but nationally. I and my fellow trustees would like to extend our sincere thanks to Andrew for his leadership, particularly over the last few challenging years and we wish him well in his future activities.”
