Bidding a fond farewell to our Jazzlines Fellows

At the end of November we say a fond farewell to our Jazzlines Fellows, Chris Mapp, Lauren Kinsella and Yazz Ahmed after a year.

The trio of talented musicians have spent the past year receiving professional support to develop their careers and further their artistic and creative potential thanks to the support of the Jerwood Charitable Foundation.

The culmination of a year’s work saw Yazz Ahmed take to the stage with songs inspired by Bahraini pearl divers and wedding music of the female drumming groups of the Gulf Region, in a suite of songs and instrumental pieces called Alhaan al Siduri in early October, followed by Lauren Kinsella who presented Somewhere in Between, a multi-disciplinary performance of two contrasting sets encompassing music, poetry and theatre on October 13th.

Our third fellow, Chris Mapp will be showcasing the experimental tones of Gonimoblast, accompanied by Maja Ratkhe on 26 and Arve Henriksen on 27 November at The Crossing, South and City College.
