Birmingham's Swim Deep to headline show at Town Hall

Birmingham buzz band Swim Deep are to play a headline show at the city’s oldest music venue, the iconic Town Hall, on Friday 20 September 2013.

Emerging from the ‘B-town’ scene alongside friends and fellow bands Peace and JAWS, the four-piece psych-rock and beach grunge outfit have seen support from NME as well as airplay on national stations including 6Music, Radio 1 and XFM.

The Grade I listed 178-year old landmark Town Hall, which hosted performances by major artists including David Bowie, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin throughout the 1960s and 1970s, has welcomed PJ Harvey, The Beat, Midlake, Iron & Wine, Bat For Lashes and The Eels since reopening in 2007 following a £35 million renovation.

Swim Deep, who have previously toured with Spector and Two Door Cinema Club, performed at last month’s The Great Escape festival and are set to play a number of festivals this summer, including Latitude, Benicassim and Bestival.

The band’s debut album Where The Heaven Are We, recorded in London and Brussels, is due for release on Monday 29 July 2013 via RCA Records. Their Town Hall show is part of a 13-date UK tour.

Tickets go on sale from 10am Friday 7 June 2013 via and Town Hall Symphony Hall Box Office via 0121 780 3333.
