Everybody likes free things, right?
We have four great free events at Symphony Hall in the next three days (try saying that with a mouthful of spaghetti):
Folk For Free, our monthly collaboration with the fine chaps from Moseley Folk, takes place in the Symphony Hall Cafe Bar between 5.30pm and 7.00pm today (Thursday 12 April) and features Katy Rose and the Calvary Parade, a group of very talented musicians.
We like to offer music fans a bit of choice…and it comes in the form of the CBSO Selly Oak Community Choir who will be making their Symphony Hall debut tonight (Thursday 12 April) at 6.15pm!
Then tomorrow (Friday 13 April) at Rush Hour Blues in Symphony Hall Cafe Bar, the young composer and jazz bassist Hamish Livingstone and his band perform a special commission of music inspired by the famous sinking of the Titanic 100 years ago. 5.30pm to 7.00pm again, part of the new Jazzlines programme and followed by a performance of Gavin Bryars’s The Sinking of the Titanic at Town Hall at 7.30pm.
To round off this quartet of free shows, Ambika Jois returns to play at the popular Saturday afternoon Mid-day Mantra session we present with sampad from 1pm – 2.30pm.
Not bad, huh? We hope you can join us at one, two, three or all four of the events :)
