This Carers Rights Day, let’s hear it for the carers; the often unsung heroes in our community who contribute so much.
This year at THSH we’ve started to offer events tailored to the wants and needs of carers and their families. We’re offering support, respite and the opportunity to come together to access specialist advice as well as the chance to meet with likeminded individuals.
This Christmas is no different as we invite carers to bring the whole family along to join us for a morning of festive cheer at Town Hall, as the Metropolitan Brass Quintet and the Halas Home Sing and Sign Choir will be entertaining the crowd with festive favourites’.
We spoke to our Programme Manager Chris Proctor to find out more about what you can expect at our Celebrating Carers at Christmas event
This is a chance for a moment of brief respite in the busy Christmas period so come along (dressed in their best Christmas hats, jumpers and tinsel if you wish!), sing a few songs and listen to the excellent Halas Homes Sing & Sign Choir and the Metropolitan Brass Quintet. After the concert, thanks to the generosity of Midland Mencap, everyone will be treated to a hot drink and a mince pie!
These events are open to everyone, not just carers, but also the people they care for, their families, communities and groups.
