Centrepiece 2011 At Symphony Hall

A stunning array of hand-made jewellery produced by contemporary designer-makers based in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter is now on show at the annual Centrepiece exhibition in the Level 3 foyer at Symphony Hall.

The exhibition, which runs until Friday 23 December and is open between 10.30am and 8.00pm or later if an event is taking place in the hall, features earrings, pendants, necklaces, cufflinks, bracelets, brooches and other assorted treasures in materials such as gold, silver, aluminium and resin.

Centrepiece was formed in 1997 to create an opportunity for jewellers and silversmiths, working in the Jewellery Quarter, to showcase their work to the Birmingham public.

At Symphony Hall this year we are showcasing the work of six new young designers from the Design Space project, a Birmingham city council supported scheme for new jewellery designer/makers alongside our more established makers. The blossoming of Centrepiece has come about through the hard work and commitment of our members, with the assistance of Symphony Hall and the regional support agencies. Our relationship with Symphony Hall has been essential for our growth and continued success. We are passionate about showing the work of contemporary jewellery designer makers to a wide audience and raising awareness of the wealth of talent which exists within the Jewellery Quarter and the West Midlands as a whole.
