Head of Customer Intelligence, Mary Coles, is leaving Town Hall and Symphony Hall after 25 years.
Mary joined the team in 1990, over a year before Symphony Hall opened in 1991, and has supported us through the years as we expanded and took on the management of Town Hall in 2007.
Originally taking up the role of Marketing Manager for Symphony Hall, Mary developed a keen eye for data and over the years naturally progressed into the position of Head of Customer Intelligence – seeing us through a period of significant change and making improvements that have been felt by the whole business. Her hard work and achievements will continue to help the team for many years to come.
Due to her meticulous attention to detail, strive for perfection and unique knowledge of the business, Mary has played a pivotal role in shaping our business-wide approach to customer intelligence. Helping us to understand our customers and their needs better than ever before.
It is with great sadness that Mary leaves us after so many years of dedicated work, her support, guidance and training of staff across the organisation has been second to none and she will be sorely missed by the entire team.
On leaving Mary had this to say, “I can hardly believe it’s been 25 years. The job and the market place have changed so much in that time. When I started there were no emails or mobile phones….
“I’ll take away many memories, way too many to mention here. Over the years I’ve worked with some fantastic people on some amazing concerts and projects. I’d like to thank Andrew Jowett for giving me the opportunity to be at the start of THSH’s amazing adventure and I wish all the team every success for the future.”
To celebrate the end of an era, Mary held a leaving bash on our Symphony Hall stage and was joined by around 80 of her friends and colleagues met during her time with us. However the thanks didn’t stop there and staff gathered for tea and cake in the afternoon prior to venturing out for leaving drinks.
We would like to say a big thank you to Mary and wish her the very best for the future, from the entire team at Town Hall & Symphony Hall Birmingham.
