Free Jazz Gigs launch at Bramall Music Building

Birmingham’s live music offering received a welcome boost recently, with the opening of a new multi-million pound concert performance, conference, meetings and events venue on the University of Birmingham’s main Edgbaston campus.

The Bramall Music Building features the Elgar Concert Hall, a stunning custom-built music auditorium at the heart of the building, constructed using Symphony Hall as its acoustic model.

In addition to involvement during the consultation, construction and acoustic refinement stages, THSH are also delighted to announce that our Jazzlines team are extending the popular Free Jazz Gigs series beyond the city centre, launching with a performance by the Matt Ratcliffe Coda Quartet in the building’s foyer at 5pm today (Thursday 13 September).

Costing approximately £18-million to construct, the Bramall Music Building finally completes the semi-circle of buildings around the Chancellor’s Court at the centre of which stands the magnificent Great Hall.
