The UK's No.1 classical vocal harmony quartet are back at Town Hall with another exhilarating tour - G4 Live!
G4 exploded into the industry back in 2004 of the first series of the X-Factor, and continue to blow people away to this day with their unique style and impactful harmonic vocals, which are incomparable to any other.
Before their visit to Town Hall on Tuesday 13th March, the group answered some pressing questions about the music they listen to.
-What song transports you back to your childhood?
Paranoid Android by Radiohead: Well, when I was an impressionable, young teenager they performed a massive gig in South Park in Oxford, which I could hear all of clearly from my bedroom! This song always reminds me of that near-sleepless brilliant night.
-What’s the first song you bought on vinyl, CD, cassette or MP3 download?
Origin of Symmetry by Muse: I remember spending hours in HMV listening to it on those demo headphones. After a few weeks I thought I ought to actually buy the CD. I’ve used the same rule of thumb for spotify/downloads nowadays!
-What song reminds you of your first crush?
Runaway by The Corrs: I had a Spanish girlfriend during my gap year when working at a hotel to save up to live in London whilst going to music college there at the end of the year. She had to go back to Spain, and I had to leave for London and this song really struck a chord with us both at the time.
-What’s your go to Karaoke song?
Crazy by Patsy Cline: The first time I sang it at karaoke people went mad and wanted me to sing it again straight away! I've got a low voice and it's a great one to croon and sweep down to the low notes and very much of an era, which I love.
-What song is guaranteed to get you up and on the dance floor?
Tubthumping by Chumbawamba: His was the first single I ever bought myself and it resonates with my younger self whenever I hear it. It hurts your legs after a good dance to it though as the drops to the floor on, “I get knocked down” take their toll on them!
-What’s the last song you listened to?
Another Day by G4: As we embark on the new tour soon I am desperately trying to learn lyrics and this one seems to be harder to learn than I first thought. I am sure I will get there in the end... fingers crossed!
-What song do you switch off when it comes on the radio?
I Predict a Riot by Kaiser Chiefs: I don’t know why really. There’s just something about it that makes my throat close up whenever I hear it. Eeesh.
-What song do you play just before you step on stage?
Fresh Prince of Cwmbran by Goldie Lookin’ Chain: I first introduced the lads to these guys about 12 years ago. One of the most important things when it comes to performing is to learn to relax! Having a good laugh helps, and these guys are hilarious.
Having recently made their debut in Asia, and after countless UK tours since they first formed, G4 are delighted to have more tour dates than ever in 2018 and this is set to be their best show yet. Enjoy their classic hits of Bohemian Rhapsody, My Way, Nessun Dorma and Creep plus recent heart-stopping tracks from their latest G4 Love Songs album as they and their live band leave audiences screaming for more night after night.
