Town Hall Symphony Hall were delighted to welcome the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra's Patron, His Royal Highness The Earl of Wessex, to the Birmingham premiere of a lost work by Stravinsky last week.

His Royal Highness was welcomed by the Chair of Town Hall Symphony Hall Anita Bhalla OBE and CBSO CEO Stephen Maddock OBE, before sharing a pre-concert lunch with major supporters of the CBSO and other guests. 

He then heard the Orchestra's performance of Shostakovich's First Violin Concerto with Nicola Benedetti, as well as Stravinsky's Rite of Spring and Funeral Song.

After the concert His Royal Highness met Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Nicola Benedetti and musicians Jonathan Martindale, Graham Sibley and Gabriel Dyker.
