Juan martin on BBC Radio 3

An in-depth interview with the legendary flamenco guitarist Juan Martin is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s World Routes programme at 3pm on Saturday 29 May.

Presenter Lucy Duran will speak to the virtuoso composer and musician, voted one of the top three guitarists in the world by US magazine Guitar Player, about his musical influences and experiences, which range from playing at Picasso’s 90th birthday celebrations to leading cross-discipline performances involving visual art, dance and music.

The programme will also feature palmas and songs with singer Carlos Brias and dancers Raquel de Luna and Miguel Infante, who will be joining Juan Martin, Salvador Moreno ‘El Tigre’, singer and guitarist Manuel, Paul Fawcus [woodwind] and Chris Karan [percussion] on tour in the UK this autumn, taking in a date at Town Hall, Birmingham.
